NOTICE
Sub:- Award of stipend by FCI to talented
students in the field of sports.
Ref:- FCI Headquarter’s Circular No.2/2008, under reference No.20- 36(4)/06
SPB, Dated:- 09.04.2008.
Stipend will be awarded to the young and up coming talented students of
School/Colleges in the field of sports by FCI, NE Zone. The details of the
scheme are appended below.
1) Age Group :
The stipend shall be available to the students in the age group of 15-21
years and 21-24 years.
2) Number of stipend holder players :
A total of 22 (twenty two) stipend holder players will be inducted for the
year 2009-10 in the following disciplines by the Zonal Sports Promotion
Committee, FCI, NE Zone, Guwahati.
i. Football -12 (twelve)
ii. Cricket -06 (six)
iii. Badminton -02 (two)
iv. Table Tennis -02 (two)
Total: - 22 (Twenty Two)
3) Amount of Stipend :
The amount of stipend to be granted to the awardees is as follows:

4) Duration of stipend:
The stipend will be given initially for a period of one year and will be
renewal after every year upto five years based on the individual/improvement
in his/her event. The recipient of these stipends will cease once they
attain the age of 24 years.
5) Eligibility criteria:
a) Individual Events:
The stipend shall be awarded to such persons, who secure 1st, 2nd and 3rd
position in National School Games, Junior/Senior National Championships, All
Inter University Tournaments.
b) Team Events:
The stipend shall be awarded to such persons, whose individual performance
is exemplary in National School Games, Junior/Senior National Championships,
All India Inter University Tournaments even though either team may not have
secured 1st to 3rd place.
6) National Federations may send the names and address of 1st place winners
in the last Junior/Senior National Championships subject to approval of
Competent Authority.
7) In case of special merit which is not covered under the above conditions
may be considered with the approval of Chairman and Managing Director of FCI.
8) Following guidelines will be followed for awarding stipends:
a) He/She is not a recipient of any other stipends from any other sources.
b) That he/she will continue his/her studies as well as the game concerned
deligently and will show improved performance in both.
c) He/She shall submit the certificates duly attested by the Head/Principal
of the educational institution in which he/she is studying, that he/she is
bonafide student.
d) He/She shall make himself/herself available for such practice /camp/
tournaments as and when required by the ZSPC, NE Zone, SPB.
e) That he/she shall not behave in a manner during the period of stipend in
which may cause embarrassment to FCI and also shall not take part in
activity pre-judicial to the law of land. He/she shall also abide by the
rules, regulations, stipulations etc framed by FCI, SPB from time to time.
f) He/She shall not represent any club/institute/association other than
educational institution without obtaining prior approval from FCI.
g) The ZSPC can withdraw the stipend at any time without any notice or
assigning any reason thereof.
h) He/she is requested to obtain the concurrence of his/her parents /gurdain
in writing duly attested by a gazetted officer.
i) If he/she accept any stipend /employment from any other institutions, the
stipend so awarded by FCI will cease automatically.
j) Secretary, ZSPC will monitor his/her performance from time to time and
release the stipend amount.
k) Application forms can be obtained from FCI, Zonal Office (NE), Sports
cell, Ulubari, G.S.Road, Guwahati.
l) Last date of submission of filled in application is 01.06.2009.
